Charge controller specifications tend to focus on the maximum input current (A), but there is also an item called the maximum input voltage (V) .
Inputting a voltage higher than this " maximum input voltage (V) " to the charge controller increases the risk of damage .

Instead of just matching the maximum input current (A) , both the solar panel current (A) and voltage (V) must be within the charge controller's tolerance .
