What is a charge controller?
It is responsible for " managing the charging and discharging (use) of the battery " .
It also prevents overcharging of the battery and backflow of current to the solar panel.
There are many types, from simple ones to ones with LCD monitors.
You can check the status on the display,
・Management of power supply to the inverter
・Checking the amount of power generated by the solar panel
・Check the voltage of the battery
・Checking the power consumption of the inverter
・Management of battery charge and discharge (use)
・Stops when the temperature rises too much
You can also make detailed settings such as
There are two types of charge controllers
There are two types of charge controllers: PWM control and MPPT control .・PWM control (Pulse Width Modulation) pulse control method
Generally cheap and distributed charge controllers are often used in independent photovoltaic power generation systems.
・『MPPT control』（Maximum Power Point Tracking）Maximum power point tracking control method
High efficiency of 97% when calculated with actual conversion efficiency, 30% compared to PWM control method. And it is more expensive than PWM control products.
How to choose a charge controller
The point is
・Accurately calculate the voltage (V) and current (A) on the solar panel side
・Check the maximum input voltage (V) of the charge controller
Charge controller specifications tend to focus on the maximum input current (A), but there is also an item called the maximum input voltage (V) .
Inputting a voltage higher than this " maximum input voltage (V) " to the charge controller increases the risk of damage .
Instead of just matching the maximum input current (A) , both the solar panel current (A) and voltage (V) must be within the charge controller's tolerance .
